I am wondering if anyone out there feels the way I do about the Seattle Mariners. They have to be the number one underachieving team in baseball. A great place to live....a fantastic stadium....and a group of anemic hitters who have the team once again in the cellar looking up at the rest of the American League West.
Is it the manager? No, John Mclaren can't pick up a bat and hit for Richie Sexson or Ichiro or any of the other Mariners.
Would the return of Ken Griffey Jr. help? YES....anything to create some interest in a team that is going nowhere fast.
Now let's head the other way on I-5. In Corvallis, the Beavers showed the college baseball world they are once again for real!!
Taking two out of three from UCLA proves they deserve a shot in post-season play....11-10 in the Pac-10 is already better than their record last season (10-14).
