NEW DATE. NEW LOCATION. SAME GREAT CAUSE.

Saturday, April 10, 2010
The Governor Hotel ~ Heritage Ballroom
614 SW 11th Ave
Portland, OR 97205-2624

La Salle Prep is bringing our auction and dinner back to Downtown Portland again this year at the historic Governor Hotel and we’re pleased to announce this year’s auction theme: "EVERYDAY HEROES".

Who is YOUR hero? A parent, grandparent, or friend? A favorite teacher or coach? At
La Salle, we are surrounded with everyday heroes on a daily basis. At this year’s event, we will be focusing on the local everyday heroes that touch the hearts and minds of our young Lasallians. You can be our hero by partnering with us in helping sustain this great school. The 16th Annual Auction and Dinner is La Salle’s largest fundraiser of the year and we are once again working diligently to make this an event worthy of your support.

We want to take this opportunity to thank you, in advance, for your generous support of this event. Your participation, in any capacity, is what makes the auction a success year after year. Whether you volunteer, donate, or encourage participation in others, we couldn’t put on this worthy fundraiser without your partnership and support. Thank you for being our everyday hero!

Dance West In Concert: One Singular Sensation

Dance West performs at the Arts & Communication Magnet Academy (ACMA) Performing Arts Center in the premier event for this new venue. “Dance West In Concert: One Singular Sensation”, is scheduled for performances Friday, April 23rd, through Sunday, April 25th, 2010.

Entering their second decade, Dance West begins a new era in their permanent performance home on the ACMA campus.   Artistic director, Julane Stites, has put together a program that won’t disappoint, and the dancers have worked hard to make their first performances in this new space their very best ever.

The concert showcases the bright and diversified talent the Dance West training program develops. Brenda Buffalino's complex tap rhythms, off-set the wild west ballet of "Billy the Kid" choreographed by Jason Davis. Terry Brock transfers the legacy of Eleanor Powell's brilliant tap artistry to a trio of terpsichorists!  Other works include "Ballroom", choreographed in part by special guest artists Remos Reynosa and Julana Torres; the ever- popular Broadway section, with contributions from Broadway performer, Kent Zimmerman; an Afro-Caribbean modern composition by Les Watanabe and work by returning guest choreographer David Ward, as well as the prolific artistic director, Julane Stites.

Dance West is the resident pre-professional dance company housed at Arts & Communication Magnet Academy in the Beaverton School District.  The school was recently named by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top high schools in Oregon and the U.S.  In addition to a five hour dance day, the dancers carry a rigorous academic course load.  Please join us in celebrating their amazing accomplishments.  Tickets are available at all Ticketswest Outlets (Safeway stores); by calling 1-800-992-8499; or online at www.ticketswest.com.
